No doubt we have some gamers on here albeit not sure how many. Thought it might be helpful to have a thread dedicated to games reviews, particularly in the build up to Christmas with so many new games coming out.
Yup. Its nasty killing those whales in a fictitious story set 300 years ago. But its OK to leap of a building and plunge a hidden dagger into the neck of a passer by and walk off incognito.
Actually got high hopes for AC 4 after the grind fest shite that was AC 3. It sounds like Ubisoft have listened to the community and put in an interesting charismatic lead like Ezio and dumped boring Connor.
Far Cry 3 - very good, but gets a bit grindey after a while. Lovely detailed huge world and crazy NPC dialogue
Xcom - Enemy Unknown - great blend of strategy and turn based squad shooter, good replayability factor, one of my games of last year - 9/10
Max Payne 3 - a bit of a departure from the original games from 10 years ago, but still a fantastic film noir inspired story, the shooting mechanics took a while to get used to, but with a bit of practise no problem. Max was a great character, gritty, grumpy, cynical but with a heart. Fantastic soundtrack by LA electro rock band HEALTH. Really enjoyed it in the end
Bought 3 games at the weekend as I work my way through my back catalogue, Dishonoured, Hitman Absolution and Spec Ops the Line.

Its really good, quite gripping. It can seem hard at first as its very unforgiving, but well worthy of having a go. The turn based combat is one of the best things about it, but its more about strategy and tactics more than anything.
Open it up and give it a couple of hours, think you'll enjoy it.
Football Manager 13 - Started up with Spurs, got third in the league in first season, only signed Holtby and Isco in first season, went out of cups pretty early which allowed us to focus on UCL qualification, which we did pretty comfortably in the end. Second season, got rid of a few players including Defoe to free up some funds to sign Suarez, cheaper than usual because ... Liverpool got relegated Also signed Radu. In about November 2013 now and 6th in the league (4 points off top) and 5 games into group-stage, with Bayern/Shakhtar/Spartak () but on 9 points and just need a point in last game vs Spartak to go through as group-winners !

If you like playing on the harder modes and online tournaments like me, then its excellent. If you want to play a lot of the courses though you have to pay extra to download them, so that sucks a bit. Its a lot more realistic this year in terms of shot setup and shot mechanics.

You should go back and visit both 1 & 2. Amazing worlds, really odd but cool mix of 1950's Americana with mad sci-fi. Great story's too.
Not got round to Infinite yet, currently playing Spec Ops: the Line. At first looks like just another military FPS, but its really engaging with a really good story and twisting plot, which makes it completely stand out from all the other COD clones. Great game, think im not far off finishing then its on to Dishonored.
Or I might just hang back and wait for next weeks The Last of Us, that looks absolutely amazing and I love anything Naughty Dog do. Even before the reviews are out, people are touting it as the game of the year.
